Greg Hastings' Tournament Paintball MAX'D
This fall Activision will be releasing a new version of their sleeper
hit, Greg Hastings' Tournament Paintball, across multiple platforms.
The new game title will be Greg Hastings' Tournament Paintball MAX'D.
The original Tournament Paintball, released in 2004, has already grown
in popularity with over 100k registered players on Xbox Live. MAX'D
promises to capitalize on this success, providing several new gameplay
enhancements to entice an even larger gaming audience. Perhaps the
most interesting of the new features is "breakout play calling," which
promises to add new elements of tactics and strategy to the
increasingly dry First Person Shooter genre.
According to a press release issued today by Activision, Breakout will consist of three basic modes: Breakout Move, Breakout Shooting, and Sweet Spot. Based on the descriptions of these modes, the game tactics will take on a backyard football style of tactics. Before play begins, Breakout Move will allow players the ability to diagram their AI teammates movements before play begins. Breakout Shooting will determine if the AI players should shoot, or run to their bunker at the beginning of gameplay. Sweet Spot will allow players to focus the firing issued by their teammates to tactical areas as gameplay begins.
In addition to the enhanced features of MAX'D, there will also be a custom soundtrack provided by the talents of some of the artists from Limp Bizkit, Cypress Hill, and Linkin Park.
Look for MAX'D in the fall, but only look for it on the current-gen platforms.
