Merrill Lynch analysts are expecting XBOX 360 to be priced at $299, a hundred bucks cheaper than the PS3.

Too bad. I was hoping the PS3 (which looks so far like the superior console) would be cheaper. Lets see what extras they come with though.

seriously? i think they are pretty close, and if its gonna be a $100 price difference, i'm goin xbox all the way.

There's a rumor going around that MS is planning on cutting the price of the 360 the day the PS3 is released.

The actual pricing has just been announced. Although you can get in at the $299 price level, its slimmed down a bit. There is a $399 version as well. You can see the whole article Here

I've also read that they're going to come out with different versions at different price levels post-release too. For example, they're going to add a HD-DVD drive at some point in the future when the technology is available and rerelease. So eventually there's going to be several different types of 360s out there.
